A home away from home…

Discover Nepal’s incredible landscapes, captivating cultural and historical heritage, and friendly people.

Our Cultural Immersion Program offers you the incredibly safe and enriching opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the Nepalese culture, cuisine, customs and daily way of life.

The Cultural Immersion program provides a truly unique opportunity to become part of a Nepalese family for a short period of your life. While the vast majority of tourists in Nepal come only to visit, do some activities and buy some souvenirs, you will have the chance to discover how people actually live in this beautiful country. You will reach beyond just by living with your host family.

This project promotes cross-cultural understanding. It is a rewarding and intense cultural encounter, but you should expect to experience some challenges as you process through the cultural immersion. Cultural immersion isn’t just about what we can take, it is also about what we’re giving back.

During your 'Cultural Immersion' program, you will stay with a carefully selected host family, giving you the rare opportunity to truly experience life inside a Nepalese community. Your host family will provide a private room with basic furniture and shared facilities.

All meals will be provided for you by your host family: 3 authentic Nepali meals per day (Breakfasts, Lunches & Dinners).

What’s included

  • Pre-departure support.
  • Airport pick up & drop off.
  • Transportation from Kathmandu to the project site and from the project site to Kathmandu.
  • Program induction in Kathmandu before starting your project (including sightseeing around the Kathmandu Valley).
  • Accommodation (homestay) during induction in Kathmandu.
  • Accommodation during your Cultural Immersion program: private room at a host family’s house.
  • 3 meals per day during your stay with your host family.
  • 24 hours supervision.
  • 24 hours in-country support.

What’s NOT included

  • International flights.
  • Medical and travel insurances.
  • Meals during induction in Kathmandu.
  • Personal expenditures.
  • Visa fees & airport taxes.
  • Anything else not specified in the ‘what’s included’ section above.

Participants should respect the values and aims of the local communities, and be committed and reliable. Participants do not need any specific skills or qualifications, but should have a genuine desire to learn about Nepalese culture and share their own.

It isn’t easy to meet and interact with new people in an unfamiliar place, especially with a language barrier. But it is a once-in-a-lifetime rewarding and intense experience.

All participants are required to have an adequate travel insurance before joining this program.
