Documentary Photography Internships
Our Nepal Photography internship program is designed for students in the field of photojournalism or photography, or professionals looking to expand their portfolios. This program is the perfect opportunity to gain experience while discovering a fantastic country.
Students will coordinate and develop photo stories, photo documentaries, photo essays, photo features, etc. They will be informed about daily events and our professional coordinators and photojournalists will directly supervise the work of the interns. We will gather photos and distribute them to related national media (the Kathmandu Post, The Rising Nepal, My Republica, The Himalayan Times, etc.).
All the aspiring photographers seeking knowledge in photography are welcome to join our Photography internships and develop their skills and explore their potential.
Note: Programs are made prior to arrival and are based upon your experience, interests and goals.
Our 'Documentary Photography Internship' program provides a unique opportunity to explore Nepal and work with Nepalese media outlets.
- You will coordinate and develop photo stories, photo documentaries, photo essays, photo features, etc.
- You will be informed about daily events and our coordinators and photojournalists will directly supervise your work. We will gather photos and distribute them to the related media (the Kathmandu Post, The Rising Nepal, My Republica, The Himalayan Times, etc.).
- During this program, you can explore issues, do research and collect information related to your topic. You can share problems faced during the time of identifying issues, research, shooting and editing. Your final product(s) will be presented via multimedia to a mass audience, e.g. photojournalists, editors and representatives from related organizations.
Working hours: 5 to 7 hours per day / 6 days a week, depending on publication types and assignments. Hours may vary according to assignments. Interns can also choose to work part time or full time.

You will stay with a
carefully selected host family, giving you the rare opportunity to truly
experience life inside a Nepalese community.
2 meals per day will be
provided for you by your host family.
Interns should respect
the values and aims of the local communities, and be committed and reliable.
For this program, please send us your CV, your cover letter, a passport size photo and a passport copy.
All interns are
required to bring their own equipment.
