Preserve the Culture of Agriculture
Nepal is an agro-based country. Up to 80% of the population lives in rural areas and depends on agriculture for its livelihood.
Genetic modifications, chemical fertilizers and synthetic pesticides are being extensively used to increase the supply of agriculture production. In the long run, these methods have negative impacts on human health and destroy the environment by impacting agricultural crops and decimating a wide variety of plant species. By respecting the natural capacity of plants, animals and local conditions, organic agriculture combines tradition, science and modern farming technology based on natural processes that provide various benefits for the environment, but also for the human health, society and the production capacity of the soil. To improve the livelihood of Nepalese farmers, it is essential to promote sustainable agriculture techniques, which ultimately create an environmentally friendly society.
If you are interested to know more about organic agriculture techniques, get involved in our Farming Volunteer programs. We also offer Farming internship/ training opportunities.
