We offer Ultralight Aircraft Training and Ultralight Pilot License (UPL) with our Partner, the Pilot Training School “Avia Club”. Training programs are carried out entirely on their own aircrafts from their own private training airfield in Pokhara, Nepal.

The courses are designed in accordance with Civil Aviation Rules and Requirements and are approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) will issue the UPL License.

Courses can be tailored to your individual needs, and onsite accommodation (budget hotels/ homestay/ apartment rental or camping tents) is available if you require.

For booking and inquiries, please contact Avia Club Nepal at [email protected] or contact Rijan Rijal at [email protected].

An Ultralight (Microlight) is a two-seated small aircraft with powered engine designed to carry no more than two people (pilot and passenger), with a maximum fuel capacity of 90 liters and a total weight of less than 600 kg, including fuel and persons onboard.  It has an imposed speed limit of less than 130 km/hr. Average speeds are about 80 km/hr.

Avia Club uses the A22 Foxbat (AEROPRAKT) ultralight for 3-axis training.  For weight shift training, they use Cruise and Air Borne models, which are known for their ease of handling and simplicity.

They will also provide all the theory required to obtain your pilot certificate.

Course for basic Zero level students:

Ground Course: 25 hours of ground / classroom courses (books, CDs and examination fee are included). The ground courses of 25 hours in every aspect of flying are available for you to be able to complete your full pilot certificate and all of the various endorsements.

Flight training: The total flight training hours will be 25 hours.

After completing the training, we will issue Club's Certificate and provide the recommendation letter for issuing Ultralight Pilot License to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, CAAN.

TRAINING FACILITY

Avia Club offers a modern, fully certified training facility, which includes:

·       The latest model, fully certified and meticulously maintained aircrafts,

·       Clean and security monitored hangars,

·       Air-conditioned classrooms,

·       Private airstrip.

Students have to arrange their own accommodation, but Avia Club will help you find a safe and nice accommodation before your arrival.

This training is open to students of all ages and backgrounds who possess the commitment and interest in becoming a pilot.

Actual course times vary with each student; each student must complete 25 hours flight tuition of which 15 hours must be solo.

It would be unfair to the students to lead them to believe that everyone may achieve a pilot certificate in 25 hours, as this is usually not the case. 25 hours to 40 hours training are required for most students to achieve the required proficiency.

To be able to obtain a pilot certificate for an ultralight, the student must be-over the age of 18, in good health (i.e. Class II medical), has +2 passed or equivalent level of education and at least operation level (4) of English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT).

All students are required to have adequate medical and travel insurances before joining this program.

For this program, please provide your CV, your cover letter, a proof of a medical, accident and repatriation insurance, a copy of your higher education degree certificate, your ELPT score or equivalent if you aren’t Native English speaker, a Medical certificate, a passport size photo and a passport copy.

The weight of the passenger cannot exceed 110 kg (240 lb).
