The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek in the Annapurna Region is one of the most famous short mountain treks in Nepal with breathtaking mountain views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna II and many other peaks.

Our “Poon Hill & Kali Gandaki Adventure Tour” is one of the most practical and invigorating ways to do the Poon Hill Trek.

Consisting of three days of trekking and three days of rafting on the Kali Gandaki, this tour is a terrific way to experience the Himalayas and involves both adventure and exposure to the local culture.

Trek through impressive rhododendron forests, conquer the challenging white-water rapids of the Kali Gandaki, the world's deepest canyon, witness breathtaking vistas, experience the true lifestyle of the Gurung and Magar and enjoy delicious food and warm hospitality.

Day 01. WELCOME TO NEPAL

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our friendly representative will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign displaying your name. He will then drive you to your hotel. At the hotel, you will receive a short pre-departure briefing.


Depending on your time of arrival, you are free to relax or explore the city.

Day 02. POKHARA

After breakfast, we will head to Pokhara, one of the most beautiful cities in Nepal, by tourist bus (approx. 6 to 7 hours' drive). We will check in to our hotel, where we will spend some time refreshing ourselves.

Day 03. TREK FROM NAYAPUL TO ULLERI (1960m) | ≈ 5 hours

After breakfast, we will drive to Nayapul by private car/van. We will start our trek from Nayapul and cross few suspension bridges, before reaching Tikhedhunga. Then, we will climb steep stone steps up to Ulleri, an ancient village of stone houses, where we will stop for the night.

Day 04. TREK TO GHOREPANI (2874m) ≈ 5-6 hours

We will continue our trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani through the rhododendron forest.

Day 05. HIKE TO POONHILL (3210m) | ≈ 1 hourTREK TO TATOPANI (≈ 6-7 hours) AND DRIVE TO BENI (≈ 2 hours)

We will  wake up around 4 am, and begin our hike to Poonhill at 4:30 am sharp (≈ 1 hour hike)Witness the spectacular Poonhill sunrise over towering peaksEnjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna II and many other peaks.


We will hike down and enjoy a nice breakfast before continuing our trek to Tatopani through dense rhododendron forests. We will have a break in Tatopani and then, we will drive to Beni, where we will spend the night.

Day 06. KALI GANDAKI RAFTING 

Rafting (day 1) on the Kali Gandaki River, the world's deepest canyon:

We will drive from Beni to Maldhunga. Before hitting the rapids, we will prepare our rafting equipment and you will receive a briefing about safety procedures and paddling techniques. Then, we will start our rafting adventure. We will hit few famous rapids, including Big Brother and Small Brother. We will set up our camp on the Modi Khola's river bank.


Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 07. KALI GANDAKI RAFTING 

Rafting (day 2) on the Kali Gandaki River, the world's deepest canyon:

After breakfast, we will float down the river and tackle the Good Morning rapid and some class 3 and 4 rapids. We will set up our camp in Purti Ghat.


Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 08. KALI GANDAKI RAFTING 

Rafting (day 3) on the Kali Gandaki River, the world's deepest canyon:

We will continue our rafting trip towards Seti Beni. We will pass black rocks worshipped by Hindus as the manifestation of Lord Vishnu (Shaligram). We will end our rafting trip in Mirmi. From Mirmi, we will head back to Pokhara by bus.

Day 09KATHMANDU 

We will drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus (approx. 6 to 7 hours' drive). 

In the evening, in Kathmandu, we will have our farewell dinner at a local restaurant, where you will also enjoy a Nepali cultural dance show.

Day 10. DEPARTURE

After a fun-filled trip, our journey ends. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed your trip. We will take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport. If you have time and would like to extend your stay in Nepal, we would be happy to offer our recommendations.
