Farming Internships / Training
Our Farming internship/ training programs are a bridge for connecting experienced farmers and interested individuals willing to learn how to start and run an environment-friendly farm.
You will learn about biodynamic agriculture principles and gain practical knowledge from farming experts.
The Farming internship/ training program is designed for individuals studying in the fields of Agricultural Farm management, entomology, disease control, organic farming, farming techniques, irrigation and plant nutrition; however, this program is also open to anyone looking for an opportunity to start a new agriculture business.
During this program, you will work under the close supervision of a professional farmer who will guide you and teach you all the skills required to become a farmer.
Project Life
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our friendly representative will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign displaying your name. He will then drive you to your hotel. You will spend one night in Kathmandu and then be transferred to the farm. Once you have arrived, you will have time to relax and settle in before starting your internship / training.
During the farming internship/
training program, you will work with the local farmers and assist them in their
daily duties. Depending on the season, you will do many different jobs, from
digging the field, milking the buffaloes, to planting rice, or cutting grown
rice, and so much more. You will have the opportunity to learn about seed
selection, organically soil treatment, compost making, natural pesticides, fruit
planting, pruning, cutting and grafting, animals and poultry care, gardening,
landscaping, methods of plantation, nurseries, contour hedgerows of
nitrogen-fixing plants, crop rotation, cultivation of medicinal and aromatic
plants, conservation farming, etc.
Working
hours: 4 to 6 hours per day/
6 days a week.
Each weekend, we provide a guided village tour and hiking trips, cost-free.
What’s included

- Accommodation and food during your stay at the Farm: room at a host family’s house.

- Guided village excursion each weekend.

- Meals in Kathmandu.
- Personal expenditures.
- Visa fees & airport taxes.
- Anything else not specified in the ‘what’s included’ section above.
You will stay with a carefully selected host family in a local farm, giving you the rare opportunity to truly experience life inside a Nepalese community.
All meals will be provided for you by your host family: 3 authentic Nepali meals per day (Breakfasts, Lunches & Dinners).
Interns / trainees should respect the values and aims of the local communities, be committed and reliable, flexible, patient, and adapt to new environments easily. They should be proficient in English, and have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
